Some other work I finished a while ago, but never posted. Also, as I write this I am back in Canada. The Florence trip is sadly over.

The past week.

My brother came to Florence last week, how cool is that?

He arrived on Tuesday and although I had to go to my midterm critiques on Thursday, we had an extremely busy time of sight seeing shenanigans.

Tuesday, he arrived around noon and then we immediately ran up the dome on the Florence cathedral. We then wandered around the Arno, got some Ice cream and went to Dianne's place and ate an amazing dinner she made us and her roommates.

Wednesday, I had art history class in the Academia, so Jesse came along too. He got to hear all about the David sculpted by Michelangelo and due to a card I got him, he was able to get into all museums for free. After class, We went to Fiesole with Dianne, Iskhui, Michelle and Meg for lunch and wandering around. None of us had been there before (about a 10-20min bus ride). The town is up on a hill overlooking Florence and is absolutely stunning. We then blitzed the Uffizi museum and went to Piazza Michelangelo and San Miniato Al Monte, before going for pizza.

Thursday, I had my midterm critiques, which went on until about 3pm. Jesse wandered around a bit, before meeting me at the studio while Dianne, Michelle and Meg went to lunch with us. We went to another restaurant that night (Red Onion?) to have a deliciously massive Florentine Steak.

Friday, we took the 7am train to Rome. We arrived at St. Peters Cathedral around 10am and between then and 5pm (for our train home) we explored that cathedral, Colosseum, Forum, Trevi Fountain and the Roma Subway Station. Rome is far too big to explore in one day, but we saw a whole bunch in the time we had. We went out for dinner at the same place we ate lunch the day before..Yuummy Gargonzola and Walnut ragu!

Saturday was dedicated to Pisa. Dianne joined Jesse and I for an early trip to Pisa. We bought our tickets around 11am, but couldn't get into the tower until 1pm (as dictated by our tickets). So, we went for lunch and explored some of the souvenir shops before we could climb. The tower was super awkward to climb due to it's slant, but the view from the top was spectacular.

Today, I walked my brother to the train station, where he took a cab for the Airport to head home. A week which was far too short and went by far too fast.

Working these days on getting ready for midterms which are coming up. There is not really much to mention, as I've not been doing a whole lot in getting into adventures or what-not. There is a chocolate Festival going on these days, which is really tasty and I've been making use out of it. There is a creepy looking clown there, who looks very misshaven and dirty.

Watched the Muppets movie a couple of days ago in theater here. We went to a different theatre then before, it's an old ornamental balconied building which had been converted into a movie theatre. Very awesome place to be in and you can bring your beers into the movie with you.

That's all for now. Going to be heading to the studio to keep working away.
